Top Hat Computing Ltd (THC) was formed by Tom Cranstoun in 1994 and provided IT services to various government organisations and a number of high profile companies in the media industry and the financial sector. Their loyal customer base included the BBC, 4MC, Croydon Library, Phibro, London Borough of Greenwich and Opra (Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority). THC had huge experience in Microsoft technologies and grew to around 30 staff at its peak.

THC sadly stopped trading in January 2001, a victim of the downturn in the media and IT sectors.

Phil Barber, a senior consultant at THC now runs a new company, PB Technology Ltd, and still works for several former THC customers.
